About Emma
I originally graduated and worked as a nurse for the NHS, then had a whirlwind of a year and moved to Texas. I taught myself HTML and CSS, like many people, and dabbled in web development. I’ve now started a degree in computing and a diploma in digital marketing (I balance these with full time working life which is fun!)
How did you get into tech?
My husband convinced me to give it a try! I love that there are so many different areas of tech and different ways of being involved. I’m currently studying a BSc in Computing and IT.

What languages/technologies do you have the most experience in?
I am definitely still a beginner, but probably Python and JavaScript
What are you currently learning/practising?
Currently, my course is problem-solving using Python and I’m also learning a lot about Digital Marketing.
What are your favourite resources to learn/stay updated on tech?
Masha’s blog, Artificially Intelligent Claire’s newsletter/blog and websites such as code academy and data camp are also fab.
What would people learn about by following you?
A little about what it’s like to be a student balancing studying with a full-time job. I also like to chat about things I’ve found interesting, this can be anything from maths-related facts to machine learning to digital marketing!
What inspired you to start sharing your experiences on social media?
I think I felt a little lost when I started looking into being involved in tech, and very overwhelmed. I wanted to let people know that’s okay but it won’t always feel scary. You can succeed if you start at 24 the same as you could if you started when you were 5 – there’s no age limit on learning!
How can we get in touch with you?
Usually through Instagram DMs!

Being a quick learner is the best superpower! No wonder you can balance all of the things you’re currently learning 🙂
