“After working my butt off for GoDaddy as a contractor for a year and a half, I was offered a full-time employee position this week and I’ve accepted it! Yay for PTO, pay raise and benefits!”
Late post for #InternationalWomensDay but I can’t go without giving credit to the many wonderful women who have inspired me, shaped me into the woman I am today, given me hope that I can become the person I’ve always wanted to be and grow the talents that God gave me. Every woman in my life that I have been close with has inspired me in some way — whether that was because of her strength, her bravery, her tenacity, her good attitude, her compassion or her relentless good treatment of those around her. I am so blessed and so grateful to know and be close with several truly wonderful women who show me continually what we can accomplish and how many things can be made better. Here are only a few of the many: my mom, my sisters, my grandmothers, my aunts, my cousins, my bridesmaids, my close friends, my Miss Georgia sisters and of course the women I have met while pursuing this crazy dream career of mine. Keep doing what you’re doing, ladies. It is so needed and so appreciated. #GirlPower

Ela has changed her career!
In her own words:
“Almost 1 year ago I wrote an article about my journey into software engineering. I spent 9,5 years in recruitment (out of which 6 years at Microsoft as a Talent Sourcer). I’m a self-taught dev, but I wouldn’t be here without the support of many wonderful people. Hope it will be helpful for others thinking about a career change, it’s never too late to start following your dreams!”

Tamara has reached the “Bronze Tier Inventor” status, for filing 2 patent applications with the US patent office!
This is incredible, Tamara! So happy and so proud of you, it’s amazing how much you can achieve when you believe in yourself ❤️ Hopefully your example will inspire other women to file patents and move that 13% statistic upwards!
Last Friday I received a surprise email from Salesforce congratulating me on achieving "Bronze Tier Inventor" status, for filing 2 patent applications with the US patent office.⠀ ⠀ I felt really proud of this accomplishment. Particularly given I never considered myself a creative or innovative person.⠀ ⠀ I thought the first patent was a fluke.⠀ ⠀ And then I did it again.⠀ ⠀ And I'm currently working through an idea for my third.⠀ ⠀ All within my first three years.⠀ ⠀ Turns out I was wrong… I'm pretty good at it.⠀ ⠀ According to a study by the UK's Intellectual Property Office (IPO), women inventors account for just under 13% of patent applications globally.⠀ ⠀ Shocked by this number, it got me questioning why there are so few women inventors submitting patents.⠀ ⠀ Is it purely a lack of confidence?⠀ ⠀ Are women not given the same opportunities as men?⠀ ⠀ Or is it a matter of privilege? (For example, large software companies who invest in patents, and smaller or non-technical organisations do not?)⠀ ⠀ If your company values and invests in patents, and you’re a female who has a brilliant idea and would like to submit a patent, DM me and I will share my tips on how to achieve your first patent.
