Women In Tech Weekly Issue 1

Hello wonderful people! I’m starting a new initiative, I want to celebrate amazing women in tech and share their resources – and do that weekly!

There is a huge community of women in tech out there, and every single woman is incredible in her own way, creating super useful resources and sharing her thoughts with the world. I want to create a place where you can find these resources and get inspired by this community of strong and authentic women.

I truly believe in the power of community and that women are stronger when they support each other #communityovercompetition – please let me know what you think of this project in the comments!

So let’s celebrate these badass ladies and their achievements!

Celebrations ??

Anto is Volunteering at a Coding School for Children!

“One of my goals this year was to be more involved in the tech community offline too just as much as I had been online. My actionable first step to doing so was attending more Tech conferences. At one of these tech conferences, I met a coding school for kids. One thing led to another and now I’ve been volunteering with them since last month. I share this to highlight how important it is to get involved in programs and initiatives that open the doors to programming to demographics that don’t generally have access to the tech world in these ways.”

It’s been decades since the last time I’ve had this many tiny friends! The more I get to know these kiddos, the more they blow me away. 👩🏽‍🦱👧🏽👦🏻👦🏾👧🏼👧🏻👩🏻‍🦱🧒🏼🧒🏽 . Volunteering at Logiscool has quickly become my favorite part of the week. I get to see first hand how their confidence sky rockets the moment their code works, or that second when something they didn’t understand suddenly clicks. . I’m not going to lie, taking this on has definitely taken a lot of time away from other areas and even personal goals and projects (why you haven’t seen much of me on here lately) But it’s so worth it. I truly love it. . My duties are starting to involve much more than just assisting instructors as I take on, through personal initiative, things like designing wall art, organizing Earth Day games to promote plastic consciousness (coming up next weekend! 🤗🌊🦈🌏) instructor training, etc. . I feel like I’ve found a place where my values, interests and personality truly belong and are valued greatly 👩🏻‍💻🌷🌿✨

Amanda gave an awesome Podcast interview and moved her company into their very first office space!

My awesome friend Amanda, the Founder & CEO of McLernon & Co., had a great interview with the Believe Be Real Podcast. She has also moved her company into their very first office space – and has been sharing details about the move in her stories. It made me want my own office too!

BIG dating update… I found my soulmate! April fools. 😅 BUT I did just get interviewed on the @believeberealbebold podcast with @daveglaser_cscs and I think it’s worth a listen, regardless of your relationship status. Link in bio!!!! Dave and I cover SO many important topics including: ✔️My current approach to dating and how I stopped playing the numbers game ✔️My fear of being alone and how I moved past it ✔️How I moved through the shame and fear of the financial insecurity that came with leaving my relationship and how I got financially secure on my own. (Special shout out to my personal financial advisor Darcy @damselinthisdress for her help here.) ✔️How to challenge and teach yourself to grow personally and professionally ✔️How to learn to give yourself “a fuckload of grace” ✔️How “eating, praying and loving” didn’t get me through my 5 year breakup and what did ✔️How I finally learned to give myself grace and compassion to feel the harder feelings I was going through ✔️How to “feel your feels” and be a badass at the same time I’m dying to know what you think of it- give it a listen and let me know!!
